Guatemala Sinkhole

In May 2010, a 60 foot wide and 200 foot deep sinkhole developed in Guatemala City, swallowing an entire street intersection and part of a city block, including a three-story building.  Currently, geologists have not conclusively determined a cause for the sinkhole that formed following Tropical Storm Agatha, but attribute it to leaking sewer pipes.

  1. It does seem more like a photoshop image than reality. But, believe it or not, this is an actual photograph from the Guatemala Government.
